Martin Quinn

Martin Quinn is a native of Bansha, Co. Tipperary, and is active in a wide range of voluntary activity at a local, county and national level. He followed in the footsteps of the founder of Muintir na Tíre, Canon John Hayes, in becoming National President of Muintir Na Tíre from 2008-2011. He is Chair of North Munster Citizens Information Service (covering counties Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford & Clare) and is Hon. Secretary of Tipperary Peace Convention and the internationally recognised Tipperary Intl Peace Award. He served 2 terms as Chair of South Tipperary (LEADER) Development Co. (2010-2016) and is current Vice-Chair of Tipperary Transport Local Link Service. A stroke survivor, he is a leading advocate and speaker with the Irish Heart Foundation and is a member of the Irish National Audit of Stroke Governance Committee. He has given many years of service to the organisation and presentation of the Canon Hayes National Sports Awards and is a former GAA referee and officer at club and county level. He was recognised with a Volunteer in Sport Award by the Federation of Irish Sport in November 2019 and was honoured in 2012 as Tipperary Person of the Year by the Tipperary Association Dublin.
